SABE |
| Description | Seamless Administrative Boundaries of Europe SABE is a pan-European vector dataset which contains the geometry and semantics of the administrative hierarchy of 26 European countries. SABE is produced by MEGRIN, the group of National Mapping Agencies of Europe. SABE was created from administrative boundary data provided by National Mapping Agencies to the MEGRIN Group. SABE is the first pan-European dataset which contains all of levels of the national administrative hyerarchie from the highest (country) to the lowest level. The low level administrative units are the units which elect representatives to local municipalities, or , for the European Union, the NUTS5 level. As an option a seamless coastline of Europe : SCOLE is available to complement the administrative boundaries. SABE contains the administrative units of Europe at the various administrative levels in each country. SABE contains for each administrative unit:

identification of the low level administrative unit which hosts its municipality.
The points that make up the arcs and nodes are in geographical coordinates in the WGS 84 reference system on the ellipsoid GRS 80. Date are regularly updated. The newest version, the SABE 97 corresponds the state of 1.1 1997. |
